Responsibilities:
Complete up to 20 hours of direct service per week.
Direct service includes youth/adult league supervision and coaching youth sports programs Supports in the creation of schedules and team rosters for all youth/adult sports leagues Supports the communication of schedules, rosters and all pertinent information for upcoming youth/adult leagues to the Welcome Center staff.
Establish a clean, safe, organized, welcoming environment that speaks to all parents and participants Maintain supplies for sports leagues and ensure the storage areas and class spaces stay clean and organized Help develop a staff team which exhibits a welcoming, positive, mature, and empathetic attitude; while displaying our living our cause culture.
Establish positive collaborations between staff to staff, staff to member, and ultimately member to member Model relationship-building skills in all interactions.
Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner Assure compliance with SEFA policies for youth league volunteers Provide support to YMCA special events as needed Maintain knowledge of emergency and safety procedures; provide care during an emergency, document all incidents/accidents on the appropriate forms, and submit to the Director of Youth Development upon completion of shift Follow HR and Risk Management policies and procedures of the institution Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Sports and Play Coordinator
Qualifications:
One to two years coaching experience is preferred Strong athletic background Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community Possesses the ability to motivate, educate, develop, and inspire members and staff.
Availability on weeknights and Saturdays (September-June) Sports and Play Coordinator
